Hudukdaban Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is at Hudukdaban (44°30′N, 83°E) south of Jinghe County, Xinjiang. The Hudukdaban Fm was named by Xinjiang Party of Regional Geological Survey and Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences (1974), and was published by Hou Hongfeit et al. (1979). In 1977, Xinjiang Party of Regional Geological Survey and Chinese Academy of Geological Science measured the Guozigou section in Huocheng, and defined the upper horizon the Hudukdaban Fm and the lower horizon the Aktash Fm, a suggestion was followed by Hou et al. (1979) and Xiao (1979).
Synonym: (呼独克达坂组)
Lithology and Thickness
The formation is gray massive limestone and very thick lime-mud mound. In Huocheng, the Hudukdaban Fm is composed of a sequence about 798 m thick.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
In Guozigou, Huocheng, this formation rests conformably on the micritic limestone of Koksaleixi Fm
Upper contact
It is unconformably overlain by the Nilkahe Fm of early Silurian.

Fossils
It yields tabular corals Agetolites asiaticus, Plasmorporella granulosa, Paratetradium xinertaiense, Rhabdotetradium cf. quadratum, Neoplasmoporella gracilis, Catenipora sp. and Eofletcheria tianshanensis.
